This painting is born from a series of plein air paintings done on the Russian River in Fall, and then grew to a larger pieces in the studio. I went out early, while it was still cool, and I attempted to capture that feeling of a crisp fall morning on the water. The cottonwoods, lit by the morning light, are in their full glory.
