From Photo to Final Painting 3- Notans and Wet-into-Wet Painting

$150.00

This is the 3rd in a series of 4 live zoom workshops. Saturday, Nov 2, 9am-4pm PST.

What do you do after you've finished a notan? That's what we'll explore in this class!! Applying notans is all about getting better control of layers and edges.

In the morning, we'll use hands-on activities to unpack my version of the Watercolor Clock. This is all about learning to anticipate what water does on the canvas, palette, and brush, so we can practice better control of wet-into-wet painting.

In the afternoon, I'll introduce the concept of the Hourglass and we'll get down to painting and "opening back up" the values of a notan. Notans can help us create a sequence for the layers of a painting, as well as guide us in the creation of "bonded" wet-into-wet shapes.

I'll be painting with a restricted watercolor palette in this class. This class is intended to amplify and work in conjunction with the free October Notan Challenge.
