Mendocino- Paint Out and Upcoming Plein Air Class
Paint Out Details-
Next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I’ll be participating in the Mendocino Paint Out. We’ll have wet paint sales each day, as work rolls in, but the public “main events” are on Sunday. On Sunday, we’ll do the Quick Draw from 10-12, and awards from 230-300, when we’ll wrap up. I’ve got some locations I’m looking forward to painting. It’s a lovely space, and if you’re interested in a little art trip, this could be fun. Here you can find out all the details- Mendocino Open Paint Out — Mendocino Art Center
All the artist and Art Center workers are required to be vaccinated, and all attendees have to wear a mask while on site at the Art Center. So, it’s pretty COVID compliant!
Also, here’s a few pics from my last trip to Mendocino. Lovely stuff to paint there, for sure. ;)
Upcoming Plein Air Class in Mendocino-
The turn around is short, but I’m aiming to do a plein air class through the Mendocino Art Center this October. The class will be a weekend-only class, October 16-17, 930-430 each day. You can register and find out more here-
PLEIN AIR WATERCOLORS AND NOTANS — Mendocino Art Center
We’ll be getting introduced to notans, then working on them onsite, before we jump into doing a plein air piece each day. I’ll be using my “10 tips” from last post as basic structure for how to approach the logistics of painting plein air. Finally, my goal is to head back to the studio to critique the pieces, and work on those “final touches” that are so important to doing the best plein air we’re capable of.
I’m looking forward to the class. I’m fully vaccinated, and all students are also required to show proof of vaccination. Additionally, any work on site at the Art Center requires a mask from all participants. So, the goal is to have fun, but be safe! :)
