I have an article in the upcoming June/July Issue of the International Artist magazine

I have a 4-page article in the upcoming June/July issue of International Artist. One of the things I like is that the magazine isn’t just about watercolors, but instead features articles on artists workings in various mediums. The work is good, type and layout well done, nice sized photography, etc. I’m in good company in this article too, as Paul Kratter and James Gurney also have articles in it- two painters I admire.

My article is about painting negatively, what it can offer you and how it can affect the perception for your viewer in interesting and positive ways. It features a step-by-step for a painting I worked on last year, but having been keeping the wraps on for a long while. Its very exciting to finally be sharing it.

Also, if you have thought about getting a subscription, now’s a good time- I’ll have an article in atleast the next 4 issues! It’s part of an ongoing series called “The Way of Watercolor”. The next one (in August) will be about notans.
